Description

1794 Half Cent, High Relief C-9 variety, authenticated / graded / encapsulated as Extremely Fine Details (for corrosion and tooling), as it has the light-but-rim-spread corrosion typical for the Early American period.  We believe we see NGC’s note of the tooling – it looks like someone tried to restore Liberty’s eye and bridge of the nose – but the professional graders know.  Anyway, this coin of only the SECOND year of U.S. minting, in the Washington Administration, is one of what is believed to be only 500 to still survive, and in superb, collectible details condition.
This coin, even corroded and tooled, graded high enough that we will offer it for now.  After some short period, we may pull it off to bring to a national-level auction, so you may note the NGC number if it does and you wish to track it again.  But for now — offered for your interest!
