Description
For sale an old Polynesian type of fishing lure but there is no hook. It seems to be a stick with a heavy stone at the end where pieces of large kaurishells are bound on to. Still quite a charming object though. Estimated 1850-1900’s
Coming from the estate from an ex-whaler Jan Vantook who worked at a whalingstation Salvesen &Co in the Faroe islands. Most pieces in the listing are from him. He served on a ship starting at age 23 in 1934 until 1950.
